Hurtigruten Aims to Double North American Business

Norway’s Hurtigruten aims to double its business from North America over a three-year time frame, according to a company newsletter to the trade.

It is currently in the process of recruiting a new managing director for North America for its recently established Seattle-based office.

In related news, Rolf Logan has been named Director of Sales East; he was previously director of sales. Deane Motis has been named Director of Sales West; she was previously managing sales in the western region. In addition, two new sales managers have been named, Karen Freundlich for Southern California and Arizona, and David Purinton for Northern California.

Hurtigruten has also named three senior managers in support roles at its Seattle office: Steven Franz as controller, Diana Akopyan as product manager and Vicki Renne as manager of sales and marketing.

Bo Fridsberg, who has been with Hurtigruten some 26 years will be retiring at the end of March.

Over the past few years, Hurtigruten has been headquartered in New York and then in Southern Florida, before moving to Seattle.
