New Summer Shore Excursions from Thomson

Thomson Cruises exciting, new summer 2014 Shore Excursion programme is now on sale. Customers can browse and book excursions online before travelling, with advance bookings offering great savings on the on-board price.

The start of the summer season will see the introduction of some fun and funky new tours including the chauffeur-driven Tuk Tuk Amsterdam Adventure through Holland’s cosmopolitan capital. The Summer Dog Sledding on Wheels fly-by tour in Longyearbyen, Norway offers guests the chance to be pulled by a powerhouse pack of huskies through the Arctic Tundra, and for the eco-adventurers the Eden Project offers a walking tour of the largest domed greenhouse in the world, based deep in the heart of Cornish mining country.

Thomson Cruises will be re-visiting Italy this summer where guests can experience the Rome All in One Day excursion, taking in the most famous city’s landmarks including the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and the mighty Colosseum. The Athens and the Acropolis tour remains on the Thomson Celebration programme, showcasing the historical sites of the city including one of the most iconic ancient monuments. From Norway, Thomson Spirit cruisers on an ex-UK itinerary can again enjoy a trip skywards on the Flam Railway Adventure, one of the most spectacular train journeys in the world.

Along with the traditional favourites, Thomson Cruises aims to offer something a little bit different, from Sea-trek R.I.B Adventures in Stornoway and riding Segways in Rome, to Touring Riga by a Retro Tram and relaxing boat rides to the Isle of Mozia and Marsala from Trapani, Sicily.

Customers of Thomson Cruises can also amend excursion bookings up to 24 hours before the tour departs, offering that extra flexibility.

Helen Caron, Managing Director of Thomson Cruises said, “As with all of our excursions, we’ve hand-picked some new additions to the summer 2014 programme, which we’re confident our customers will enjoy. Our excursions are very popular and often sell out, so allowing customers to plan ahead and book their excursions before they’ve even left home ensures they get to experience everything on their ‘must-see’ list for their cruise.”
