Royal Caribbean Announces Sale of Air and Tour Segment of Pullmantur

Pullmantur has signed an agreement with Gowaii and Springwater Capital to sell a majority capital stake of its businesses which are dedicated to tourism-related activities that are not directly connected to its cruise line business: European travel circuits and city tours, tour operation, Nautalia Viajes travel agencies and Pullmantur Air.

According to the terms of the agreement, Pullmantur will continue in its role as a main strategic partner in this group of businesses, although, from now, the Spanish group will concentrate its activity on its cruise line business.

Gowaii and Springwater’s entry will boost the activities of this group of businesses that are focused on the tourism sector and dedicated to air transport, retail sales and tour operations, to take full advantage of potential for growth and development.

The sales agreement includes a protocol for sales relationships with Pullmantur and other companies within the Royal Caribbean group for the development of joint activities.

The signing of this agreement, together with the upcoming launch of a corporate head office in Panama, are fundamental phases within the ambitious strategic plan that Pullmantur has put into action to focus on the expansion of its activities in the Latin American market, with the aim of becoming the undisputed leader.

It is expected that the deal will be finalized within the next few weeks, once anti-trust regulatory bodies have put their stamp of approval on the agreement.
