Costa Pacifica: The Greatest Hits of the Fleet

The Costa Cruises fleet will have its “Greatest Hits” from June 2009: the Costa Pacifica, conceived by cruise ship guru Joseph Farcus, the renowned architect and interior designer. “Greatest Hits” not only because the design is based on the crème de la crème of Costa excellence (the sister ships Costa Fortuna and Costa Magica plus the sister ships Costa Concordia and Costa Serena), but above all because the central theme used as inspiration for the concept of this liner is in fact Music.

For the first time on a cruise ship you will be able to enjoy a total musical experience that is unique and matchless: not only will music provide the inspiration for the interior design of the new flagship, for example in the atrium decorated with musical symbols and instruments, but it will also be heard, read and “experienced” throughout the liner. And you will be accompanied on this exclusive musical journey by a soundtrack consisting of pieces specially arranged for Costa Cruises.

Not surprisingly, one of the areas on board where the central “theme” is developed is the Theater! Stepping inside will be like entering the very temple of music. High fidelity in an auditorium that will be hailed as a monument to perfect acoustics and the ideal venue to enjoy the purity of sound, immersed in a unique atmosphere, enhanced by the warm colors, Baroque style and stunning Murano glass chandelier.

Another highlight of the ship will be the superb Samsara Spa: here, you will be pampered by the soothing notes and by the expert staff offering a range of Ayurvedic treatments and revitalizing rituals for the body and soul. Samsara, one of the largest (over 6000 m²) and most elegant Wellness Centers ever built on a cruise ship, is located on two of the highest decks, overlooking the sea, where time and space merge, cancelling each other out and ensuring relaxation, vigor and vitality. People who want to immerse themselves entirely in the oriental atmosphere of Samsara Spa will be able to book the Samsara Cabins and Suites, with direct access to the spa area and the option of dining at a dedicated restaurant with special wellness menus.

Guests will be amazed when they first set eyes on the two pool areas, one on two decks amidships and the other aft, both fitted with a sliding glass roof affording splendid sky views 24 hours a day and all year round. In the central area the Giant 18 m² Video Screen will be used for daytime projection of video clips as well as nighttime film screenings and be visible from the hot tubs.

Thrill-seekers won’t want to miss the chance to try out the Grand Prix driving simulator with the most accurate representation ever of GP driving on the world’s best racing circuits!

If you want to celebrate a special occasion and dine in style on delicious dishes prepared by the expert hands of the Costa Chefs, head for the private Restaurant Club Blue Moon (reservations only), where you’ll spend an unforgettable soirée in an elegant and sophisticated setting.

There are more surprises in store, but if you want to discover them… step on board the music ship and let yourself be transported by her melody!
