Celebrity Century Bound for CDF Future?

The Celebrity Century (photo: Eduardo Wallenstein)According to French news reports, including postings to the Croisières de France (CDF) website, Celebrity Cruises’ 1995-built Celebrity Century will be transferred to CDF, a French cruise line owned and operated by Royal Caribbean Cruises, in 2015.

CDF is shooting for 100,000 passengers in 2014, sailing the Zenith and Horizon, both ex-Celebrity ships, and it is expected the Century will take the place of the Zenith in 2015. The Zenith is assumed to be heading back to Pullmantur, a Spanish cruise line which manages CDF and is also owned by Royal Caribbean.

With the arrival of the Century, CDF is said to be hoping to spend longer days and overnights in the bigger ports, and plans to make its first foray into Northern Europe, carrying an estimated 120,000 passengers in 2015.

In addition, the French brand has announced a new shore excursion package, consisting of three to five excursions (itinerary dependent), priced at just 99 euro.
