MIAMI, FL - (October 16, 2006) – Joseph Falco, Vice President of Sales Development for Costa Cruise Lines--North America announced today that he has accepted a position heading up Sales & Marketing for a home development company in Southwest Florida. Falco has been with Costa in various positions for 15 years.
“While I never envisioned leaving Costa, the company where I’ve spent the majority of my career and where many of my colleagues are like family, an unexpected opportunity presented itself that I simply couldn’t pass up,” said Falco. “The past few years at Costa have been more exciting than ever with our rapid growth, clear vision and outstanding leadership.”
Falco began his career in finance with Costa, eventually becoming CFO in 1994. Earlier this year, he assumed the position of Vice President of Sales Development.
“Joe has been an integral part of Costa’s success over the years—all of us here are saddened to see him go, but at the same time thrilled for him as he ventures into this new phase of his career,” said Lynn Torrent, President and CEO of Costa Cruise Lines--North America. “Over the past few months, Joe has led the development of a highly effective new sales strategy plan, which is just one his many successes that will leave a lasting mark on the company.”
Falco will leave Costa at the end of October, but will consult for the company during the period until which time a replacement is found.
